We "might" start to cook and eat snacks from the class on Monday, 10/20 (Oct 20). (Several times this semester, depending on the budget.) Please have your own tableware (to reduce the use of disposable tableware) A container (like a dish, bowl, with or without a lid. You may have marks or name stickers-姓名貼 on your tableware). Plastic, metal, or ceramic is OK Fork/spoon/chopsticks are OK. -------------------- 1. It is not easy to cook snacks for 50 people in the first hour of the class. Thus, some students (from the Department of Nutrition) will do it a few hours before our class. Last time, some students said that they could help with cooking. Please let me know if you are available from 1200 to 1600 on Monday. This work can offer more than 60% snacks for our class.
2. During the class time, I need some (1 -3 students) volunteers to cook. Then all students can see the whole process, and I will highlight the sanitation during cooking.
3. Just snacks (do not expect that to be a dinner). This teaching style can bring more fun to our class.
4. We may cook a snack twice (two weeks of classes, the same snack with different focuses). Then switch to the next snack.
5. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. You can suggest snacks from your country, which is rare in Taiwan (please give the recipe on the website or YouTube. I will consider the processes/complexity, utensils we have, and cooking time, and select some feasible items to cook.)
5. After the survey, I know some of you are vegetarians, and some are allergic to certain foods. Thus, I will release the recipe before our cooking. Students can choose to eat or not to eat if the ingredients are unsuitable.
