When booting to the Ubuntu 14.04 / 15.04 media on a system that only has a PCIe based m2 drive. You may see that the Installer cannot locate a hard drive (the installer only looks for /dev/sdx by default) (Figure 1).

Add the following kernel argument at boot time:
nvme_load=YES
如 figure 3 and 4 的輸入，就可以載入

就可以看到
/dev/nvme0n1

MY new Dell is an Inspiron 15 5593 series with a UEFI BIOS and a 128GB M.2PCIe NVMe SSD. The installation process gets to the partition table which is blank. Shows no partition. This is a common problem with Linux installation processes; guess the worked bees haven't caught up yet with no hardware.


You need to switch it to AHCI in the BIOS for the Mint installer to see the Disc.
